When FEPS moved in 2001 to its current location, the Methodist Church Hall in Ickenham Road, Ruislip it was decided to meet on Monday evenings. This arrangement worked well for a number of years. However in the past
couple of years the room at the Methodist Hall has become decidedly cramped as the number of members joining the Society has increased. Particularly during hot weather the room became very stuffy with so many bodies crammed into the small space.
For some time Committee members scouted out other venues in the area with a view to a move to a different location, but nothing meeting our requirements was available.
Then the large hall at the Methodist Church became free, but on a Wednesday evening. Despite the change of evening the FEPS Committee came to the conclusion that this was an opportunity too good to miss. The additional room would make for a more comfortable experience for members on club nights and we would have plenty of space to display prints. The Committee's recommendation to move to a Wednesday evening was put to a ballot of all members and was accepted overwhelmingly by 92% of those who responded. It will no doubt feel strange for many long-serving members of the Society to turn out on a Wednesday. Who knows, some may even be found still wandering around looking forlorn on a Monday. But the additional room we will enjoy on a Wednesday will be so much better as we can spread ourselves out and use the space much more productively.
