FEPS' impressive collection of cups, trophies and shields had all been polished to perfection. An excellent turnout of members, friends and family gathered on 29 June at the Eastcote Hockey and Badminton Club to celebrate the presentation of the various awards to the worthy winners and to bring the season to a close. Our wonderful Social Secretaries Brian and Alan had organised a delicious buffet to keep everybody happy. They had also worked hard to arrange a quiz and raffle which both went down very well. It was a very enjoyable evening to round off the club year.
This year a relatively new member of the Society, Alison Judd, was faced with the problem of how to take home so many trophies. In total Alison won five trophies including the Jewell Cup for Mono Print of the Year and the Friendship Cup for Aggregate of Prints. Alison also won the Katharine Herring trophy which is awarded each year to the lady who has the best aggregate score across all classes of competition. Our new members bring fresh ideas and help to ensure that the club continues to thrive and develop, so Alison's success is particularly pleasing. Alison was promoted to Class I in both digital and print categories for the 2009/10 season. Catherine Allen was also promoted in both categories. Angela Melvin and Peter Trowell were both promoted in the print category.

Following hot on the heels of Alison in terms of the number of trophies won was Val Walker with three. Val swept the board in the Norma Bateman Rosebowl competition,
winning first, second and third places plus a highly commended. Val also won the Wright trophy for the Digital Set Subject series and she shared pole position with Ray Staff
in winning the Class 1 Digital competition. On the right Val and Ray receive the small but perfectly formed Jefferson trophy for Class 1 Digital.
Many congratulations to everybody who won a trophy this year. With so many members taking part in competitions the standard is very high.
The evening was enjoyed by all and marked a fitting climax to a very successful year for the Society. The club now goes into the closed part of the season
with no meetings until 7 September when the cycle of competitions starts again.
